Married Life

Wow...9 months has flown by...I am married to the most amazing man on the planet! Every time I look at him, I can't help but smile! Yes,...he works long hours, but he still manages to come home every night and still kiss me good night and tell me he loves me...I thank God every day and night for providing me the opportunity to find such a wonderful man.
Ok enough of the mushy stuff...To thank my husband for being so so so great...I cooked him dinner. Grilled Chicken and New Potatoes and Green Beans. Look at what I great cook I am! LOL...
I can be a great wife too...just like my husband...I try!
Love you baby!

Wow, Time FLEW by!

Wow...how the time has just flown by! Today is the official day that Jon and I started dating 6 years ago...It was my senior year in High School...and I was just swept off my feet! We have been married for 9 months as of Tomorrow. . . . . This time has gone by so fast. . In the last year, Jon and I moved into our apartment, I got a new job, Jon changed graduated from Paramedic school and got a new job at MedStar...We got married...Whew! I have been at my job for right at a year (this wednesday) We are an aunt and unkle...Jon's brother and sister-in-law had their baby girl in July..Emma Ann Dahlvig...Our Friends Matthew and Melissa are having a baby this March ... Eva... Our friend Becca who sang at the wedding is having a baby...wow...it must be the season! We however are NOT having a baby! We are very blessed to have a beautiful apartment, a great dog (joseph) an amazing family and wonderful Friends... We found a church that we have enjoyed going to (Fellowship Church) In Grapevine...However, it is very difficult to get there...With Jon working so much and only having saturday off on the weekends...by the time church comes around, we are so exhausted...all we want to do is go to bed...usually at 8:00...we have become an "old married couple" ha ha...it is so hard for us to stay up any later than 9:00 at night!
Well...I need to get laundry started for work this week! I'll hopefully get the chance to post again soon!

God Bless!

Holidays

So not much really been going on just both of us working hard and getting ready for the holidays. Tonight we are meeting with my parents, brother and sister-law, and some other family at Lawreys for dinner. Should be fun and its a really nice restraunt. Looking forward to Christmas day!!!

Melissa has came down with "walking pneumonia" but good news is that she's doing good and is not contagious as she's been taking antibiotics. So she got to work from home the last two days and maybe tomorrow. Talk about being lucky.

Joseph is doing good. He's going to have alot of presents this year and be spoiled, but what dog isn't, right! At nighttime he has his own blanket that he covers up with to be warm. I'll try and get some pictures of that one here.

Anyways thats it for now, as I need to go get ready for tonight. We'll put another blog up again before or after christmas.

Last night was my very first Rodeo! We went to the Mesquite Rodeo...We went with our dear friends Bryan and TJ and Jennifer and Cary and Mom and Dad. We went early to eat dinner...We had heard a lot about this place called Sonny Bryan's BBQ. It is an all you can eat BBQ. We ate Smokes Brisket, Smoked Sausage, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Rolls, Peach Cobbler and Lemonade. It was SO YUMMY!! I was so stuffed by the time I ate everything on my plate that I couldn't even think about going back for seconds.!! :o) OH yeah...I almost forgot..when we all got our plates before we went thru the line, Cary asked me for a pen so he could draw a happy face on his plate. TOO FUNNY! Anyway, once we were done eating we headed up to the grand stands. We were almost right in the middle, and about half way up. I was so excited I just could wait until the rodeo started. We had to wait a little bit tho, b/c we got there so early. But that was ok!! About 30 minutes before it started, Jon and Jennifer went down to get some cotton candy and cokes...It seemed to take them forever! In fact, Cary and I thought maybe they got lost..But sure enough, they didn't...they came back up and we all enjoyed big blue fluffy cotton candy.

So...This is cowboy poker. The point of this game is to be the last cowboy seated while the bull is running at you at full speed.
As You can see THAT BULL MEANS BUSINESS....

I'd be running too!!! YIKES!!
We had a lot of fun last night and I was very happy that we got to go! We plan on trying to go again!

It's True

See it's TRUE!!!! Watermelon!!!!!!

Joseph

THIS IS JOSEPH....Say Hello Joseph!!!! Woof Woof .... I am 7 years old... My mommy and daddy got me from the Flower Mound Adoption Center. My birthday is July 4th. My first outing when mommy and daddy brought me home was going to the fire works show in Lewisville. I don't like fireworks...they are way too loud and very scary!! Oh yeah...There is one thing that I absolutely LOVE to do...Just say one word and off I go... "SQUIRRELS" I love to chase after them and bark at them. I have not gotten one yet, but I'm getting close! I also LOVE to play with my toys that have squeakers...I squeak and squeak and squeak them until I get too tired. I also like to play dead! Treats are my favorite and I love ICE. It's cold but it's chewable and if it's chewable I love it. You know what else is good...Watermelon juice left over from cutting out all the watermelon from the shell. It's very yummy! I love to go for rides in the car, except mommy and daddy don't roll down the window a whole lot for me. Grrr!!! Sometimes I wish I had a brother or sister, but our home is too small for that right now. Daddy is gone alot but he's working so I can keep getting toys and treats. I love to go to PetsMart and see all the latest in toys and treats. The one thing I don't like about PetsMart is that's where my vet is, and who likes going to their vet (doc). I thinks that all for now. Oh oh oh... Mommy is done cutting watermelon gotta go....roof roof....give me the juice!!!

Melissa Dahlvig

Let me start by saying there is NOTHING wrong with Yankees...I'm from Iowa....

Ok, I guess I'll tell you all how we met and started out...Yes, we are highschool sweet hearts!! We dated for right at 5 years before we got married. we have been married for just about 5 months now..WOW....has it really been 5 months?? We live in a really cute 2 bedroom apartment in Lewisville!
Just big enough for Me, Jon and our pup Joseph...Well he's not really a pup anymore (just turned 7 in July) But he still acts like a pup...
well anyway, I need to go finish making lunch/dinner...I'm trying to be a good wife and make red beans and rice...a home cooked meal!!

Jon Dahlvig

Hello!!! Allow me to be the first (sorry honey) to welcome you to the blog of "Life as a Dahlvig!" It's were you can read all the crazy things that happen in the crazy life of being a Dahlvig. It can be crazy and frustrating at times. There is only six Dahlvig's in the State of Texas. It's a unique name that people can't always spell right or even say it right, there's no "N" in the name so it's not "DahlviNg" people. But it is a name that people always remember. Your probably wondering where are all the other Dahlvig's if there's only six in Texas. There up north, dang Yankee's!

Well I guess a little bit about me. I just got my paramedic certification and started working as a paramedic this last Sept. 8th. You can go to www.lifeasatexasmedic.blogspot.com and read all about the things that I will see and do. I have worked as a car washer, pizza delivery person, photo lab person, corrections officer and lastly as an EMT. Plan to get my college degree sometime but don't know when. You can also go to my MySpace page (www.myspace.com/dahlvigj) and add me as a friend. You also have to join my mob on the mobsters game. Anyways that's enough for now. I'll let my beautiful wife blog now since I know she is just waiting to do so sitting next to me drinking her Dr. Pepper. Love you honey.

Thanks for visiting.
